Pump Mechanic Job Description

A Pump Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various types of pumps used in industrial, commercial, or agricultural settings. They ensure pumps operate efficiently and safely to meet operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair pump systems including centrifugal, positive displacement, submersible, and vacuum pumps.
• Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, alignment, and replacement of worn parts.
• Disassemble, rebuild, and reassemble pumps and associated components.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Test pump performance to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs.
• Comply with safety regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians to optimize pump performance.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a pump mechanic or in a related mechanical role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Good physical condition and ability to work in various environments.
