Electrician Job Description

An electrician is a skilled tradesperson responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Electricians ensure that electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with local and national electrical codes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical codes.
• Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.
• Identify electrical problems using testing devices such as voltmeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electrical Code.
• Train or supervise apprentice electricians.
• Respond to emergency electrical issues and perform troubleshooting.
