Roles and Responsibilities of a Ship Fabricator:
✅ Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications for shipbuilding and repair work.
✅ Cut, shape, bend, and assemble metal plates, beams, and sections using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
✅ Fit and align metal components accurately to form the ship’s structure, such as hulls, decks, and bulkheads.
✅ Mark and measure materials for precise fabrication and assembly.
✅ Perform welding, bolting, or riveting to secure metal parts.
✅ Inspect fabricated parts and assemblies to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
✅ Collaborate with welders, fitters, and other shipbuilding trades.
✅ Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
✅ Assist in the installation of ship components and systems during construction or repair.
