🔹 Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements on marine vessels.
🔹 Measure, cut, and fit insulation materials such as fiberglass, mineral wool, ceramic fiber, foam, and rubber to pipes, ducts, bulkheads, tanks, and machinery.
🔹 Install thermal, acoustic, and fireproof insulation to control temperature, reduce noise, and prevent condensation or fire hazards on ships.
🔹 Secure insulation materials using adhesives, wire mesh, metal bands, fasteners, or cladding (aluminum, stainless steel, or galvanized steel).
🔹 Inspect, repair, and replace damaged insulation, ensuring systems remain energy efficient and compliant with marine standards.
🔹 Apply protective coverings or coatings (e.g. vapor barriers or metal jacketing) to protect insulation from moisture, corrosion, and mechanical damage.
🔹 Work safely in confined spaces, at heights, and in various ship areas while following marine safety protocols and procedures.
🔹 Collaborate with other trades such as welders, pipe fitters, and marine engineers to ensure proper sequencing and installation.
