Crane Lorry Driver

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Vehicle and Crane Operation:
   • Drive lorry with mounted crane to designated job sites or delivery locations.
   • Operate the crane to load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
   • Maneuver the vehicle and position the crane accurately in tight or challenging spaces.
2. Load Handling:
   • Secure loads using slings, chains, or straps to prevent movement or damage.
   • Follow load charts and lifting capacities to avoid overloading the crane.
   • Ensure proper load distribution for safe transport and lifting.
3. Pre-Operational Checks and Maintenance:
   • Conduct daily inspections of the lorry and crane, including brakes, hydraulics, lights, and tires.
   • Check crane components such as boom, hoist, outriggers, and controls.
   • Report or fix mechanical issues promptly and ensure the equipment is roadworthy and safe.
4. Safety Compliance:
   • Follow all transport and lifting regulations, including traffic laws and workplace safety standards.
   • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
   • Use stabilizers and outriggers correctly to prevent tipping during lifts.
5. Documentation and Communication:
   • Complete job records, delivery notes, and maintenance logs accurately.
   • Coordinate with site managers, riggers, or logistics staff for lifting plans and schedules.
   • Report incidents or near-misses promptly to supervisors.
6. Site and Client Interaction:
   • Represent the company professionally at customer or construction sites.
   • Follow site-specific rules and maintain good communication with clients or contractors.
   • Adapt to site conditions and adjust positioning or lifting plans as needed.
